Lionel Operating Sawmill

Originally released as the #464 sawmill in 1956, this accessory has been re-released several times by modern era Lionel.  This version was catalogued in the 1996 accessory catalog as the 464 animated sawmill, but the only number on the box is the modern number 6-12873.  I don't have an original 464, but based on the T&M accessories video, there appear to be only two cosmetic differences between the modern and postwar era sawmills:  the color, and the absence of the number 464 on the front window.  Some assembly of detail parts is required, the sawmill comes with five logs.

Operation
The sawmill is powered by Lionel's vibrotor, the drive system consists of a loop of 16mm film with small hooks attached.  As the loop goes around logs are pushed in one end, and boards are pushed out the other.  The action is smooth, realistic, and the vibrotor is noisy enough to simulate the buzzing of a real sawmill.

Dump the logs with any Lionel log car.
Start the sawmill and the logs move into the mill.
Out come the freshly cut boards!
Load the five pre-cut boards into the slot in the roof
In the back of the sawmill is a trap door allowing you to remove the logs
If you don't have one of these, get one.  Lionel is slated to release another version of the 464 in mid 2000.
